In this game you have to insure that Swampy the turtle successfully crosses Turtle Bridge. Getting him across sounds simple in theory: just tap the corresponding  gems above swampy to complete the upcoming bridge piece. But in practice, even keeping up with the slow moving turtle is challenging.
If swampy gets to the part of the bridge that is not yet complete, he will fall down and the level will end. At the end of the level you’ll see the total amount of gems you were able to match, out of the total 100 gems that the bridge is made up of.
Mission Accomplished
Turtle Bridge is very challenging and it can definitely train your reflexes. This is a great game for kids, but it can also be enjoyed be people of any age.
Room to improve
I can’t really tell what the difference is between “The Crossing” level, the “Gem Rush” level, and the “Night Out” level other than different graphics and themes. It would be nice if each level had a different moving turtle, or maybe even less gems to match. That way players can build up from an easy level to a harder one, instead of just having three different themes but no difference in playing experience.
Conclusion
If you like “beat your own record” type of games, then you’ll love Turtle Bridge. People who like puzzle games will also like this game, not to mention that you can challenge your friends through Game Center to beat your record.
Turtle Bridge is free and ready for anyone to try out. If you want to purchase the last “Night Out” level and remove ads, you can do so with a $.99 in-app purchase.
Real Estate by Redfin is a free real estate app that is available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. In addition to being free, there are also no in-app purchases or advertisements.
Features
Using this app you can view homes for sale nearby, or in a certain location, on a visual map. Depending on your preferences you can filter homes by open-house availability, Â house type, price, beds, baths, year built, sq. ft., and other metrics
The visual map has circles for each neighborhood, along with a number inside each circle indicating the amount of homes for sale in that neighborhood. Once you tap on a neighborhood circle, the map will zoom in and show you individual homes which you can tap on to view details.
The details pane shows up on the bottom of the page, so you can still see the rest of the map. But if you want to see an extensive list of details, you can just tap on the bottom pane to enlarge it. From there you can see the home’s price, monthly mortgage, bedroom and bathroom numbers, square feet, information, images, and other key details.
You can ask the home’s agent a question from directly within the app, as well as add your own notes and photos of the home if you visit it. Not to mention that the home can be shared, favorited, and un-favorited. If you have a question about the home and need assistance right away, there’s even a phone number you can call for that specific home sale. You can also schedule a tour from within the app.
For users that don’t like using the map for finding homes, they can opt to use the “list view” instead.
Mission Accomplished
Finding your dream home based on budget and needs is a breeze with this app. It does everything from filtering homes in your desired area, and showing you only the ones you’d be interested in, to connecting you with agents and scheduling tours.
Room to improve
Everything about this app is great, except its name. It might be a bit confusing to tell your friend to “download the Real Estate app” since there are just so many out there on the market. Telling them to download “Real Estate by Redfin” is just as confusing. If this app had a unique name it would go a long way in its branding. But you probably won’t worry about that if you’re just looking for an effective real estate app.
Conclusion
If you’re looking at buying a home and want to get an idea of the market, tour homes, and find exactly what you’re looking for, then Real Estate by Redfin is a must-have. This app is extremely useful and it’s also free!
Files Finder Edition is complete file explorer and document viewer app for your iPad that gives you some excellent file management capabilities right on your ipad with a familiar interface much like old finder tool from mac along with gesture controls.
Fingergraph is an app that insures you’ll never miss getting an autograph from a famous person because you don’t have a pen or paper. Not to mention that it speeds up the autographing process. Fingergraph lets you snap a photo of the celebrity and yourself, and then gives them a chance to sign the photo right on your iPhone.
Whereas pens and paper or other writing materials require a flat surface, Fingergraph doesn’t. It’s ready to capture an autograph within seconds. Not to mention that in addition to being able to save the photo to your library, you can also make a poster out of the autograph or put it on other merchandise like t-shirts and coffee mugs.
Mission Accomplished
The user interface of this app, as well as the idea of making such an app is really great. Everything runs like you’d expect it to and there’s never any glitches or hiccups with Fingergraph.
All in all this is a stellar app that is a must have (considering that it’s free and insures you’re always ready to capture autographs).
Room to improve
Unless you upgrade to the Pro version for $.99, a really huge watermark is displayed on your save autograph. The watermark is appropriate for those that don’t upgrade but I think it should at least be more see-through or less invasive.
However, if you get a famous person’s autograph then you probably won’t care about spending that dollar on the Pro version.
Conclusion
It’s a good idea to keep this app on your phone in case you ever need it. If you live in a place where actors frequently visit or live in, then this is a must have app.
SkippyFrog is a fun and addicting free game. It was developed by FriendPeeker and is available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Gameplay
This game is demonic. Not in the sense that it has pentagrams or satanic music playing in the background. This game is demonic in the same sense that Flappy Bird was.
Playing SkippyFrog is a real test of your sanity. Itâ??s frustrating no doubt, but itâ??s also real fun and satisfying to advance in this game. It is debatably one of the most satisfying games Iâ??ve played so far this year.
The home screen is simple, just a frog and a start button. When you begin playing the game youâ??re told that you need to jump on the lily pad with a key in the first level, in order to unlock the next one. It seems simple enough. That is until you are two seconds into the game.
Levels consist of three columns of lily pads moving from the left to the right. To keep advancing and not failing the level, you have to keep tapping the next available lily. This is easy for a couple of seconds before realizing that using your left hand to tap the lilies is next to impossible.
If youâ??re like me youâ??ll try flipping the phone and using your right hand. Seems like the developer though this through, because that trick is to no avail! Itâ??s debatably even harder to play with your right hand.
From the videos Iâ??ve seen online it takes about 36 seconds to get to collect the key found in the first level, and then a couple of more seconds to end the level.
When I said itâ??s satisfying to advance in SkippyFrog I donâ??t mean to imply that Iâ??ve ever been able to complete the first level. I havenâ??tâ?¦ What I mean is that advancing your score from 4 seconds to 6, then 10, then eventually 20 takes effort. By my twenty-fifth try I had made it to 25 seconds and was really satisfied, even though I had actually made no real progress in the game.
If youâ??ve played Flappy Bird or Super Hexagon in the past, then youâ??ll know how satisfied it can feel to advance a few extra seconds in a level that you canâ??t even beat. Thatâ??s exactly how this game feels.
Mission Accomplished
This game is really addicting and fun. That about wraps up everything thatâ??s great about this game. As well as the fact that the control mechanism and sliding lilies from the left is really creative. I havenâ??t seen a game like this before and Iâ??m glad the developer was smart enough to put something like this together.
Room to improve
Obviously itâ??s bad that the levels are so hard. However, just like it was bad that Flappy Bird was so hard, thatâ??s exactly what makes games fun. In reality thereâ??s no glitches or shortcomings in this game. That wonâ??t stop you from hating it at some point or another when you miss a lily and land in an alligatorâ??s mouth only seconds away from finishing the first level for your 50th try.
Conclusion
If you like games like Pivvot, Super Hexagon, Duet, or Flappy Bird then youâ??re going to love SkippyFrog. Give it a try because you wonâ??t regret playing a game thatâ??s so darn satisfying to play.
Steak ‘n Bacon’s description is humble but true: “beautifully simple yet dangerously addictive, Steak ‘n Bacon will have you eating meats for hours!” Although this game looks and feels like it should cost $.99, it’s free for all to enjoy.
Anyone who likes puzzle games or “beat-your-last-record” sort of games should definitely give Steak ‘n Bacon a try. The graphics and gameplay is great, but the mere creativity that went into developing this new type of game is to be appreciated as well.
Gameplay
Tap the middle knob and slip to spin Jake and Becca. Pausing the game is as simple as just lifting your finger. Jake likes steak and Becca likes Bacon. As these meats get shot toward them from all directions, your goal is to make sure their mouths get their favorite meat. Everytime Jake or Becca gets their meat, your score goes up by 10 points. After a couple of times of doing this your score multiplier will also go up. So you will begin to earn 20 points per correct meat-mouth alignment, 30 points, and so forth.
Should you align Jake with bacon or Becca with steak however, the game will end and you will see your final score. Your final score can be shared and you can also see how you did compared to the world-wide leaderboards. Then you’re given a chance to do it all again and see just how high of a score you can earn.
Mission Accomplished
“Eat the meat.” You wouldn’t think such a simple game idea could be so striking or fun, but it truly is. Every aspect of this game is on-par with perfection: the graphics, the sounds, controls, idea, etc. This game is so high quality you’d expect it to be $.99 and not free!
Room to improve
At the moment if you mess up even once, you have to start over. It would be nice if there was a way to select an “easy” mode where you get 3 lives or so. This would make it easier for younger children to play along and continue eating the meat even if they mess up once. Some other ways to improve is other than bacon and steak, the player could also eat power-ups which give them more lives, make them invincible for a short time, etc.
Seeing obstacle objects in this game would also be interesting. For example: if Jake or Becca eat a cold Slurpee they can a brain freeze and the controls become inverted. Would certainly make for a challenging game! This game was released on May 19, 2014 though, so the developers have plenty of time to consider new features. Even without the things mentioned above this game is still addicting and fun.
Conclusion
You’d be crazy not to “eat the meat” with Steak ‘n Bacon. Give it a try, you’ll be glad you got a taste of this amazing game 🙂
Iron Dragon II – Revenge is a continuation to the first Iron Dragon game where the main character’s sister was kidnapped. In this game however, his sister, Sala, has been saved and they begin to fight together as a team.
This game embraces in a way that men and women are equally powerful. In fact, it seems at times that playing as the girl character is easier than the guy. Even in the story it’s discovered that Sala’s powers are even greater than her brother’s.
Gameplay
So on top of the great story and morals that this game provides for children and parents, it’s also fun to play. There are always more powerups you can unlock and plenty of levels (12) to complete.
There’s also a multiplayer mode allowing people nearby to hook two devices together and play through the story as brother and sister.
Mission Accomplished
The soundtrack is great and so is the retro graphics and animations. Iron Dragon II is an old school game that both young and older people will enjoy.
Conclusion
For kids this game is appealing because of its fighting, but little do they know there are subliminal messages in Iron Dragon II about equality. Parents can enjoy this game because of its values or they can enjoy it because it reminds them of the good old days when all gaming had to offer was good story lines and creativity: not just cool effects and multiplayer shooters.
Iron Dragon II offers a lot of value for a free game. And even though you can purchase coins with in-app-purchases there isn’t any need to do so to complete the game.
Shat Cat is a really great game that levels the playing field for females in video games. Almost all of the popular games on the App Store, and even on Nintendo, involved a man saving his girlfriend or princess.
This game changes all of that because the main character is girl cat that sets out to save her kidnapped boyfriend.
Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to that of Pokemon. You keep advancing forward by defeating enemies, and eventually bosses. The combat system is really advanced though because it takes timing and reactions into account.
Playing this game will keep you on your toes because you have to time shields, power ups, and attacks for maximum efficiency.
After enemies are defeated they drop mushrooms which can be used to upgrade your character.
Mission Accomplished
The graphics of this game will feel really odd at first, I know they did for me, but they became really enjoyable. I haven’t seen any other game with this style of animation or graphics but I would enjoy if there were more games with it. I wouldn’t mind if other games picked up the combat system Sha Cat uses either.
Every part of this game is perfect. From the soundtrack to the graphics and combat system you won’t be disappointed.
Room to improve
If you want to upgrade your character but don’t have enough mushrooms, you can purchase more. The only downside is that with a couple of in-app purchases of mushrooms and upgrades, you can overpower your character. Because of this, it would make more sense if upgrades had to be unlocked first. Then the game remains balanced even if you purchase mushrooms instead of earning them.
Conclusion
Regardless of the fact that you can buy mushrooms in this game, you can easily complete it without making a single purchase. The style, humor, and equality this game brings to players makes it a must-have. Not to mention that it’s also free 🙂
Mighty Met is a mighty metronome app that is a musician’s, dancer’s, or marcher’s dream. This is the first metronome ever that is dynamic and allows to be programmed with multiple tempos, time signatures and subdivision changes.
Features
Whereas regular metronomes can only be set to one tempo, and then they have to be stopped and changed when necessary, Mighty Met does it all automatically.
If you need to practice a song for example that has a certain tempo for its chorus, but a different tempo for its verse, you can program Mighty Met to change at that time. Before musicians would have to stop in the middle of practicing the chorus, stop the metronome, set it to a new tempo, and then start the metronome and start practicing again.
With Mighty Met you can just program everything before you start playing, and as you play the metronome will change as desired.
Mission Accomplished
This app has a beautiful interface. But its functionality is just as amazing. Metronome settings can be saved as “projects” so that once they are put together, they can be saved and loaded in the future. Creating tempo tracks is also really simple with the card system that Mighty Met uses. Simple tap add, and a card will be added where you can input the amount of measures the tempo will run for, the tempo, as well as the time signature.
Room to improve
It would be nice if you the app was voice activated so that you could change tempos just by saying “Switch to tempo 1.” Or even being able to switch between projects via voice would be nice.
If a musician, marcher, or dancer has to practice more than one song they would benefit from having a hands-free way of changing between their metronome projects. However this feature being absent is not really a deal breaker.
Conclusion
If you need a metronome for any reason, whether you are a musician or a dancer, then Mighty Met is a must-have app.
