There is a beautiful picture of the American flag waving against a cloudless blue sky circulating on Facebook. In the space below Old Glory the caption reads something like this: How is it that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom unless they are flashing in your carâ??s rear view mirror?
My Personal Experience
If youâ??ve ever been pulled over by the police, then you can probably sympathize with whoever captioned the picture. I know I can! One dark night last winter, I was driving along going just under the speed limit, minding my own business when red and blue lights began flashing behind me.
My mind raced with things that I might have done wrong. Did I accidentally run a yellow light? Fail to yield at a stop sign? Was I, weaving forbid, driving too slowly? The reason the officer pulled me over was to warn me that one of my headlights had burned out. I was relieved, but I have to admit that being pulled over rattled my nerves a bit.
Minimizing Problems
When you are pulled over, there are easy ways to minimize the problems. It is natural that you may feel nervous, but you are certainly not alone. Regarding residents of the United States aged 16 and older who were pulled over by police from 2002 until 2008 the percentage dropped nearly 5%.
However that still left nearly 17% of all drivers who were pulled over by police (www.bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov). Thatâ??s still nearly 5.5 million licensed drivers (www.en.wikipedia.org)! Regardless of whether or not a police officer has ever had you pull over to the side of the road, here are some Doâ??s and Donâ??ts to remember should you ever see their lights flashing in your carâ??s rear view mirror.
DO Yield to the Right â?? Slamming on your brakes, pulling over to the left, or stopping dead center in the lane of traffic can create a collision. The last thing you want to do is add to whatever problem led to the officer pulling you over in the first place.
DO NOT Exit the Vehicle â?? Stay in your seat with both hands on the steering wheel. Exiting the vehicle could cause harm to either you or the officer. Traffic stops gone wrong kill people every year due to the officer or the driver of the other car being hit by approaching traffic.
DO Save Your Arguments â?? If you have reason to believe that you were cited erroneously, then save it for court. And if the charge involves driving under the influence, also called a DUI, then there the any number of personal injury lawyers that you can hire to help lessen the charge or perhaps expunge it from your record completely.
DO NOT Ignore the Officer â?? If the officer asks you to move your vehicle to a safer location, asks to see your proof of registration or vehicle registration, or asks you to step from the vehicle, comply with the request. Refusing to do so tells the officer that you are potentially acting guilty about something.
DO Ask for Clarification â?? If you arenâ??t sure about what to do next, by all means ask! The correct information could mean the difference between the judge going easy on you during you day in court and extra charges being added should you for some reason not show up at all. You can always call the police station the next day to confirm things as well.
Avoiding Accidents
When a collision occurs, the police are almost always called into the situation whether it is to issue a citation, mediate between the parties and direct them of what to do next or just confirm that no one is injured. You can help prevent accidents by avoiding certain bad habits, like tailgating, respecting yellow caution signals at traffic stops, and stopping too close to the vehicle that is in front of you.
Another frequent cause of collisions is distracted driving. Sadly our lives have become so busy that multitasking has spilled into every aspect of our lives, including driving. Whenever you are behind the wheel of a vehicle, it is imperative that both hands stay on the steering wheel as much as possible.
Eliminating Distractions
Tasks like talking on the cellphone, drinking a cup of coffee, reading the newspaper, or applying cosmetics are not only distracting, but these types of everyday habits can also be deadly if youâ??re trying to do them while drive at the same time. Thatâ??s because they cause you to take your hands off the wheel and your eyes off the road.
Implementing rules about no food or drink in the car, leaving the cellphone turned off while the carâ??s engine is running, and listening to the news on the radio are easy ways to drive with less distractions. It might be difficult at first to make these changes if youâ??re already using the bad habits, but in the long run you are only making the highways safer for everyone around you.

Police often carry out duties that are dangerous and heroic at the same time. Many times lives are saved, both human and animal lives, when police come to the rescue. Being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. Many thanks go out to heroic police officers.
Prime Minister Gillard And Opposition Leader Abbott Rescued In Canberra
In January of 2012, the Australian Prime Minister and Opposition leader Tony Abbott were rescued in Canberra when an Australian Day Medal Ceremony went tragically wrong. Protesters trapped the two officials in a restaurant in Canberra and about 50 police officers responded by helping the two to escape in the midst of violence and windows being smashed. The two leaders escaped out of a side door, accompanied by police officers and were quickly led to safety.
Kidnapped Man Rescued In Texas
A man from Louisville, Kentucky felt lucky to be alive after he had been working at a convenience store in Kentucky and was kidnapped by three people. He was bound, gagged and stuffed into the trunk of his car where he slipped in and out of consciousness while the trio drove around for several hours. Police officers stopped the car in Texas and heard the man’s muffled screams from the car trunk. When they opened the trunk, the man escaped and told his harrowing tale to officers. The man later said he had no idea what the intentions were of his kidnappers and he felt lucky to be alive after the ordeal.

The Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona Spain identified the 5 most important trends for Android technology. Let us take a peek to the trends that would be shaping our Android experience.
1. A Shootout Between Multi-Cores
It was late 2011 when NVIDIA announced the coming of Tegra 3, a quadcore ARM chip that has serious process powers. It indeed impressed technological buffs all around the world. It also had a new and almost equally new powerful companion core named 4 PLUS 1. However, a few months after the release of Tegra 3, it already felt a bit less than a top dog.
At the Mobile World Congress this year, Qualcomm revealed the first devices running in their Snapdragon S4, a dual core chip that was also benchmarked from the neighboring Tegra 3. On the other hand, Nvidia remained with the architecture of Cortex A9 and decided to just increase the cores in Tegra 3. Qualcomm emerged with a new architecture for its core called Krait, and it is set to compete with the future generation cores of Cortex-A15.
What this â??shootoutâ? of multicore just shows we would be expecting faster smart phones with impressive processing rates.
2. It is the 720p Taking Over
The 2012 Mobile World Congress marked the end of the qHD (960×540) and the beginning of the 720ps. Just last year, we were all buzzing about the screen sharpness and details of the qHD phones, this qHD 4.3 inch design for screens is the most common configuration for smart phones (high end ones), but now itâ??s the 720p that would be reigning.
The technology enables making HD screens in various types, it also allows manufacturers to equip Android phones with larger panels. Before, if they go for larger panes (bigger than 4.3 inch) the pixel density would start to go bad, now with screens equipped with 720p technology, things stay crisp and tight.
3. The U.S. Braces for LTE
In the U.S., LTE has now become the standard, it has now become a feature for flagship phones to be launched in North America. Almost all major carriers and service providers would have the 4G LTE legacy with them, even the countryâ??s smallest carrier is set for LTE this year.
4. Tablets Set for Affordability
High end tablet buyers who can afford the â??additional expenseâ? have the choice to buy great tablet devices such as the Asus Transformer, but those not able to afford the â??additional expenseâ?, such choices might not be available. Not for long, because affordable tablets such as the Transformer Pad 300 are available and is an affordable version without sacrificing the quality of specs and internals.
5. The Growth of Androids Just Wonâ??t Stop
If you are wondering if the Android market would ever come to a halt or a slowdown, well the news is it is not, and this event is not foreseen to happen just yet. In 2011, Google has seen 700,000 activators for Android per day, there are about 850,000 users activating Android devices daily. The stats reveal a staggering 250% jump year after year.

If you currently own a computer that is running the Windows operating system, it is extremely important to protect your computer with an anti-virus program.
Anti-virus programs keep all of your information protected from hackers, and they ensure that your computer will continue to run smoothly. There is nothing that ruins a computer more than obtaining a virus. While most anti-virus programs require a yearly subscription fee, there are three great anti-virus programs that provide your computer that same great protection for free.
AVG Anti-virus
When it comes to free anti-virus programs, it does not get any better than AVG. Not only will the AVG anti-virus program protect you from viruses, but it will also eliminate any chance of getting spyware on your computer. AVG automatically scans every email and website you access on your computer for potential threats. If there is any possible threat, then the program will immediately remove the threat. One of the best features of the AVG anti-virus program are the automatic updates. The program constantly updates its protection to make sure you do not get damaged by a newly created virus. AVG has been around in the United States since 1998, and the company currently protects over 100 million computers with their anti-virus program.
Avast Anti-virus
If you are looking for an anti-virus program with a rich history, then you may want to go with Avast. Avast has been creating high quality free anti-virus programs since 1988. They also claim that their programs have been installed on more computers than any other anti-virus company in existence. The Avast anti-virus is so thorough that it will even check your instant messages for possible viruses. While instant messaging is not usually how most viruses are delivered, it is nice to know you have the protection. The biggest feature that sets Avast apart from all of the other free anti-virus programs is their search engine, which they claim can find viruses that are undetectable by any other anti-virus program.
Panda Cloud Anti-virus
The Panda Cloud anti-virus program will offer your computer the exact same protection as the previous two programs on this list, but it has one unique feature that you will not find on almost every anti-virus program currently available. You will never have to download Panda Cloud anti-virus on your computer because the program works exclusively through the cloud. Panda Cloud scans all of your files on a secure server instead of directly on your computer. Anti-virus programs can drastically slow down your computer when they are running scans, but this will never happen with Panda Cloud. Panda Cloud was only created in 2009, but it has quickly gained notoriety and great reviews.
There are hundreds of free anti-virus programs available today, but you will not find one that is any better than the three on this list. They each provide a protection level that can not be matched and a unique feature that you can not find on any other program. You can not go wrong with any of these programs, and they will all make your computer run great for many years to come.

Having a website in this day and age is less of a luxury and more of a necessity. Any company that doesnâ??t have a web presence today tends to be viewed with suspicion by consumers who rely heavily on the internet for research into products and services.
While having a website can be beneficial in itself in terms of having a place on the internet where customers can visit and find information about your company, products and services, it can also give you useful feedback on your customer base and the kinds of people that are accessing your website.
This guide takes you through some of the metrics available through Google Analytics to show you how your website is being used by visitors and give you information that will help you make your website more user-friendly for visitors and convert more clicks to sales.
Setting up
In order to gather data on visitors to your website, Google Analytics uses a tiny bit of programming code that transmits information about clicks on your website back to the Google servers. If you have a web developer who manages your website for you, this will be a very straightforward task for them to do on your behalf. If not, the Google Analytics site offers a helpful step-by-step guide on how to go about getting your data sent back for analysis.

The set-up takes just a few minutes and once done, the information on visitors to your site will start be transmitted for analysis straight away.
Features
Google Analytics offers an integrated dashboard through which users can track activity on their site. Information on your dashboard will update daily and give you information such as number of visitors, number of unique visitors as opposed to those returning to your site more than once, the geographical location of your website users, how long they spend on your site and which pages they visit most often.

In addition to these simple metrics, Google Analytics offers a richer level of detail that you can use to really understand your users. What web browser do they use when visiting your site? Are people accessing from a desktop PC or using a smart phone on the go? Are people coming directly to your site by typing in your URL or are they being referred by search engines or other websites?
All of these pieces of information can help you to tailor your website to best meet the needs of your consumers.
Using the data
While at first glance knowing which browser people use or how they come by your site might seem to be of interest but have little utility, on closer inspection this data tells you some really useful things that can help you make your website more user-friendly.
For example, if a considerable number of people are visiting your website using their mobile phone browser, you may choose to get your site re-designed with a mobile browser-friendly format to make it easier to view your site on the go. Or if you know that youâ??re getting lots of hits from overseas, it could be time to include a section that addresses how you could serve these potential clients outside of your home country.
Market agency research and analytics data can also prove extremely useful when evaluating the effectiveness of your social media strategy. Checking the source of referrals to your website and referencing it back to your Facebook page or Tweets from your account can help you to understand how your communication is having an impact on your web traffic and play to those strengths.
Conclusion
Google Analytics can be a rich source of data to help you understand how people are using your website. Easy to set up and simple to understand, with just a few mouse-clicks you can be on the way to a better understanding of how your website is helping your business.

Gospel Music History
Gospel music, like Gospel piano, is an alternative for secular Christian music. It is written to express personal and spiritual feelings to God. Although, it has influenced a lot of today’s music that is not Christian in nature as well. Its history can be dated as far back as the 17th century through the study of ethno-musicology. Many of the songs originated during slavery. Slaves were required to attend church services with their masters, so they could be monitored at all times. Eventually, they began understanding the Christian values, and started singing about them. The songs allowed them to express their feelings and gave them hope. Most songs were repetitive in nature, so everyone could join in with the singing. In the beginning, they were passed down orally and did not include instruments, especially the piano, but as gospel music became more prevalent, instruments such as the piano were added.
Gospel Chords
The chords that are used are major sevenths, thirteenth, ninth, augmented and suspended. Seventh chords are a triad with the seventh, hence the name. They are used because they have a country and jazz sound. Thirteenth chords, which can be substituted by ninth chords, are typically used for large choirs because they have a big sound. Augmented chords are triads with a scale degree raised, and suspended chords take out the third of the chord and replace it with a fourth. These two chords are used more for small ensembles.
Chord Progressions
The progressions that are used are:
-7-3-6-2-5-1
-3-6-2-5-1
-6-2-5-1
How Are Gospel Chords Played
Gospel chords are similar to blues chords, but the rhythm is different. Blues chords are in 4/4 shuffle, and gospel chords switch to a 6/8 time. Also, gospel chords are played more open and inverted. They can be played in closed position, but as an accompanist it is best to play open especially for larger choirs. By playing openly, you give the chords a more funky and fluid sound.
Sometimes when playing, all seven notes of the scale are used. If more than four notes are played at once, then the chord will be played by both hands because each note could be played in different octaves. Chord voicing is also different because the lowest note of the chord is used for the bass line. Chords are rearranged and notes are omitted sometimes to give gospel music its unique sound.

Mobile broadband is rapidly becoming mainstream and many people are using it on a daily basis through their mobile phones and other portable devices.
Mobile broadband is an Internet connection which can be used anywhere where there is mobile phone coverage for the network that you are using to connect to the Internet. This does not mean, however, that mobile broadband is only found on smartphones. Using the right equipment and service provider, you can use mobile broadband on desktop and laptop computers as well. The following guide serves to better explain how mobile broadband differs from fixed broadband, how to get it, and its various limitations.
Fixed broadband services use a stationary router which you can connect to wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable. This is still the most common method to access the Internet, but it is far more limited in terms of coverage than mobile broadband. With a fixed connection, you have to connect to the local router. You cannot use it on the move, although many public places, such as restaurants, shops and parks provide wireless connections to routers installed in the immediate vicinity.
Mobile broadband, on the other hand, uses the same network as mobile phones do to send and receive calls and messages. Signal coverage varies by network, however, particularly in remote areas. If you try to use Internet on your mobile phone while on the move, and in a place where there is no wireless network, it will connect through the mobile broadband network, a network type also known as 3G.
Contrary to what the name might suggest, mobile broadband is certainly not restricted to phones. Using a small USB modem connected to your computer, you can connect to the service. Mobile broadband is becoming more and more widespread, being incorporated on public transport and working like a regular wireless network in some places.
Mobile broadband, although more affordable and widespread than ever before, is still not a replacement for fixed broadband. It still tends to be much more expensive and limited in terms of the amount of data that you can download. In many cases, you will have to pay on a per-megabyte basis and this can get extremely expensive if you download large amounts of data such as movies. Whatever you do, be extremely wary of using mobile broadband when you are abroad (roaming), as prices can be enormous.
In terms of speed, mobile broadband is usually considerably slower than a fixed connection. Speeds vary greatly depending mostly on the area in which you access it and the service provider itself.
If you want to choose a mobile broadband package, the necessary USB modem should be provided. Starter packages typically offer very low monthly bandwidth limits, sometimes as little as 500 MB. If you go over the limit, you may be charged a lot extra. When signing up with a service provider, you must make absolutely sure that you know your monthly limits and the costs involved if you go over them. A safer solution is simply to go for a pay-as-you-go mobile broadband service. These work in exactly the same way as pay-as-you-go mobile phones.
Charles Jackson, the author of this article suggests that some of the big providers like vodafone mobile broadband should be considering mobile broadband a very important part of the package they offer their users.
