BMX Boy is another simple BMX-style game that allows players to perform a variety of tricks while in the air, propelled by varying sized ramps placed throughout the game.
The objective of the game is to complete as many tricks as possible before the 2-minute clock runs out, while also trying to avoid crashes that cost 1,000 points each time.
Rules:
In BMX Boy, you can use all four arrow keys to direct your motion, the spacebar to jump, and the numbers 1-9 to perform various tricks. The up arrow makes your character change direction, but you have to jump or launch yourself off a ramp first, while the down arrow rotates the bike beneath your character for a decent trick. The left and right arrow keys simply move forward in either the left or right direction, depending on which way your bike is facing.
The Number Keys Performing The Following Tricks:
Spins the bike under your character. This is the same trick as pressing the down key, but can be performed while on the ground, whereas the down arrow key can only be used while the bike is in the air.
Causes your character to put his hands in the air for a hands-free jump.
Causes your character to do a full backflip off of the bike in midair.
Causes your character to take his feet off of the pedals momentarily.
Causes your character to do a Superman trick.
Causes your character to lean back.
Causes your character to let go of the bike and do a midair roll.
Causes your character to leap off of his bike in midair to do a ballerina-style twirl.
Causes your character to rotate the entire bike vertically.
Difficulty Level:
The difficulty of BMX Boy is somewhere between easy and moderate, with tricks being easy to pull off after launching off of the gameâ??s large ramps while crashes are so common that it makes the game itself almost annoying to play. With each crash deducting 1,000 points from your total combined with the fact that you can literally crash just by standing still, it can be difficult to get a decent score before the timer runs out.
Review:
While this game features more tricks and larger ramps than similar BMX games, it still lacks the fundamental excitement necessary to stay entertained for very long. For starters, crashing is as simple as pressing the wrong button while remaining still, which quickly leaves the player with several thousand points in the negative unless they are balanced out with enough cool tricks. Unlike similar games, BMX Boy does feature several large ramps that give the user plenty of time to perform single tricks as well as combos. However, this game only gives players 2 minutes to play and consists of just one scene.
Although players lose points by crashing, the crashes are very uneventful with no blood or gore of any kind. While this factor makes BMX Boy a parental-approved game, it makes it very dull for anyone looking for something fun to do with their spare time. Still better than some BMX-style games, BMX Boy has a long way to go before it makes it on the list of top fun BMX games.

Titanium is often thought of as the strongest metal in the world. This is not true.
So, what is titanium?
Titanium has one of the highest strength to weight ratios. Some steels however are stronger than titanium, such as various stainless steels and alloy steels. Titanium is a very popular metal to use in producing titanium rings and this is one element that is known by virtually everyone these days.
Titanium is a chemical element with a symbol of Ti and it’s atomic number is 22. Titanium was discovered in Cornwall in 1791 by William Gregor. He found a strange black sand deposit by a stream that was attracted by a magnet, which in turn perked his curiosity as to exactly what it might be. It’s a lot more common than you might think as virtually all living things, rocks, soil and water contain traces of titanium.
Titanium, as well as being light and strong is also not easy to corrode. So, the main positive factor in using titanium is that it can be used as a strong metal in products but without the weight of say steel for example with anti-corrosive qualities to boot.
Uses of titanium
In its alloyed form it is often used in space craft, helicopters, jet engines and missiles. It is also now commonly used in body piercings and jewellery, as titanium is an inert element that does not cause skin irritation. Tennis rackets, bicycle frames, wheelchairs, crutches and crash helmets also take advantage of its light weight / strength properties.
In desalination plants, titanium is used in heat exchangers as this metal does not corrode in sea water. In fact, it is nearly as resistant to corrosion as platinum is.
Most of the titanium extracted from the earth is refined into titanium oxide TiO2, 95% in fact, which is used to colour paper, toothpaste and plastics.
Titanium rings are becoming increasingly popular now. They are a relatively new concept, as they only became widely available in the 1990s. You can have a ‘commercial pure’ titanium ring that is 99.2% pure and classed as ‘aircraft grade’.
Titanium is harder to cut than gold, as gold is more malleable, so getting your ring re-sized isn’t a simple matter. It can be hard to find someone to re-size a titanium ring and there is a limit on how much you can re-size a titanium ring.
Titanium rings come in a variety of styles such as:
Frost titanium rings: Giving the ring an appearance as though it’s just been taken out of the freezer.
Sable: This style gives the ring a silk-like quality.
Mokume-gane: A woodgrain type of effect achieved with Japanese samurai sword making techniques from the 17th century, but with the ease of modern production techniques being employed instead of being hand-crafted.
Classic: Usually just a shiny, smooth ring showing the beauty of this interesting metal.
Abundant element
The hype around titanium creates the illusion that it is a rare metal. However, this metal is abundant in the Earth’s crust, making it the ninth most abundant element contained within the Earth’s crust. There is 0.63% of titanium present in the Earth’s crust and when you consider how big Earth is, then you can get an idea on how much titanium there is available.
Total world reserves of titanium is thought to be at around 600 million tons. Titanium is also contained within the Sun, M-type stars and even the Moon.
In all, this metal is the strongest metal when comparing weight to strength ratios and has valuable anti-corrosive qualities. The fact that people are using titanium jewellery, such as wearing titanium rings, shows that people are appreciating the beauty of this element more than ever.
Mahjong, meaning â??sparrow,â? is a game for four players which originated in China. (Three player variants exist in Japan and Korea.)
The game uses a set of 136 ivory or plastic tiles inscribed with various Chinese symbols and characters. Players must build and then break a wall of tiles, while each competes to put together a hand composed of 4 three tile â??meldsâ? (groups) plus 1 matched â??headâ? (pair).
While most of the essential rules of mahjong are the same no matter where you play, such things as the number of tiles, the scoring system and the hand required to win vary greatly, depending on which regional version is being used. Mahjong is based only partially on chance, but skill, strategy and wise decision making are vitally important for a winner at this challenging game.
Origins of Mahjong
Mahjong originated in China many centuries ago. One legend has it that the ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius created the game some 2600 years back. Another theory claims that contemporary mahjong is the â??descendantâ? of a Ming Dynasty card game. Still others say that the game developed relatively recently, during the Taiping Revolution of 1850 to 1864, when Chinese army officers are supposed to have invented Mahjong as a way to relive their boredom between battles. The areas of Shanghai and Ningpo also take credit for having innovated this popular game. In 1949 the game was prohibited in China, as a symbol of corruption, by the new Communist government of the Peopleâ??s Republic of China. However, as of 1985 mahjong was once again permitted, after being stripped of its gambling element.
Mahjong in the Western World
Westerners, in the form of an American anthropologist, â??discoveredâ? the ancient game of mahjong at the turn of the 19th century and the game was first brought to the US in the 1920s. Game sets sold out quickly and a simplified rule book was published. Over the next ten years, there were many revisions to the rules in the US until the definitive American rule book appeared when the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) was founded in 1937. This latter organization has is still in existence and sponsors a large scale major annual event, the Mah Jongg Cruise Tournament. The American Mah Jongg Association, an alternative mahjong organization, was established in recent years.
Mahjong Today
Mahjong continues its enormous popularity to this day, both in the country of its â??birthâ? and abroad. Recently a type of mahjong therapy has been developed based on findings by Hong Kong doctors of the gameâ??s beneficial effects on some types of psychological difficulties. Mahjongâ??s traditional game set has been adapted to virtual form for play on the Internet, and free games are available in a wide selection of languages for players to download or play through their browser. The game of online Mahjong Solitaire has proven to be very successful, although it bears little resemblance to the standard game beyond the use of virtual tiles. The more traditional game of mahjong is offered by a number of online casinos as an interesting addition to their gaming portfolios.
Denise Marie really enjoys writing about casino games. Mahjong is a traditional Chinese game where players compete to form a specific hand of tiles. It has become an enormously successful game. Denise’s article is for educational purposes only. Find more history on Mahjong
One of the most important rules when it comes to business is to make a great first impression on clients.
A business that fails to do this risks losing potential customers to competing businesses, which ultimately results in a loss of potential profit. Looking professional and offering exceptional customer service can help a business to build up a reputation and expand its customer base. In this article we will explain how it is possible to create a fantastic first impression with the use of a virtual office.
How a virtual office functions
For those of you that donâ??t know, a virtual office is a business that provides off-site communications and address services for small to medium sized companies. There are virtual offices based all over the country, enabling businesses to choose a location that suits them. Virtual offices usually provide a range of services including telephone answering, mail forwarding, invoicing, faxing and scheduling. Some companies can even provide additional services such as digital strategizing and social media management.
Setting up a new business address in a prestigious location
Leasing an office can be very expensive which is why many business owners choose to run their companies from their homes. The problem is that many consumers wrongly assume home based businesses are less reliable and trustworthy than more established traditional businesses.
This often means that small home based businesses lose out to much larger companies for unsatisfactory reasons, which really isnâ??t fair. Lose the stigma of being a home based business by securing an office address in a prestigious location.
Virtual offices allow you to use their address as your business address so you no longer have to give out your home address to customers. This will create a great first impression with new clients as they will perceive your business as being professional and prestigious because of your new location. All of your mail will be sent to your virtual officeâ??s address where it will be sorted by your virtual assistants before being posted out to your home address.
Acquiring a business telephone numbers and virtual receptionists
Virtual office gives business owners the chance to set up non-geographical business phone number. Like the name suggests, these phone numbers are not linked to any specific geographical areas and help businesses to market their services nationwide.
Virtual offices employ virtual receptionists who take calls on behalf of other businesses. Having a virtual receptionist to take your business calls will look far more professional to customers. Many virtual receptionists are trained in customer service, enabling them to handle your customersâ?? calls, perhaps even better than you could yourself!
Outsourcing work to a supportive administration team
Clients are more likely to want to do business with you if you look like you have a dedicated team of workers behind you. Although you will not have employees working onsite, you will have a supportive admin team behind you, they will just happen to work from a separate location! Customers do not need to know that you outsource work to virtual assistants. All they need to know is that you can handle their business in a professional and efficient manner.
Conclusion
Virtual offices can help new businesses to create the right impression on customers by making them appear larger and more professional. Even business owners that work alone will look like they have a dedicated team behind them with the help of virtual assistants and receptionists.
There is nothing wrong with enhancing your business by using a virtual office. You are not deceiving your customers or doing anything wrong, providing that you continue to deliver a professional, reliable and high quality service.
Apple’s latest iPad generation is a gadget that truly lives up to the Apple standard. It’s rumoured creation began as early as the release of the third generation iPad back in March 2012. However, iPad enthusiasts had to wait until the official release date of November 2, 2012 to get their hands on one.
The Controversy
A slight controversy arose upon the release of the iPad 4, when Apple decided to discontinue the third generation iPad at the same time. Many recent iPad 3 purchasers were dismayed at this decision so close to the release of the newer model.
In response, Apple extended its fourteen day return policy to thirty days. This allowed those who had purchased a third generation model within weeks of the fourth generation iPad release to exchange it for the newer one.
Software Specifications
The iPad 4 boasts the Apple iOS 6.0 operating system on board. This software allows for â??hotspottingâ? – meaning that the PC tablet can share its internet connection over Wi-Fi, USB or Bluetooth. It has also been upgraded from a 1 GHz dual-core processor to a 1.4GHz dual-processor. Therefore the new iPad 4 is quicker and can perform rudimentary tasks two times faster than the iPad 3
The new fourth generation iPad comes pre-installed with the following applications:
Siriâ?? Apple’s Siri software program enables the use of voice commands to send messages, plan meetings and make calls.
Safari â?? Apple’s proprietary internet browser allows for easy and quick internet surfing.
Mail â?? Keep on top of all email messages in one place.
Photos – Stores photos, create albums and upload or synchronize with other Apple devices.
Video â?? Create videos, edit and share.
Music â?? Store and categorise music files for easy retrieval and fast access.
iTunes, App Store â?? Download, music, films, videos and apps.
Maps â?? Find any place, anyone and anything â?? anywhere in the world.
Game Center â?? Join in Apple’s online fun and creative multi-player social gaming network.
The multi-talented iPad can be used as a cellular or mobile phone with the aid of pair of headphones. Users can make phone calls over Wi-Fi or cellular using a Voice-over-IP application.
Another neat feature on the latest iPad model is the dictation application. Using Apple’s own voice recognition technology, by simply talking into the device a user’s voice is converted to text onto the iPad screen. Amazing stuff!
Hardware Specifications
The new fourth generation iPad looks almost identical to its predecessor, however there are a few changes under the bonnet or hood.
The tablet has what’s called â??nativeâ? orientation. This allows for the PC tablet to be used upside down and all the installed apps and programs will respond accordingly.
The maximum storage capability has been increased from 64 GB in the previous three iPad generations to 128 MB in Apple’s latest venture.
The front camera on the iPad 4 also had a slight upgrade. It went from VGA quality with 0.3 MP to HD quality and 1.2 MP.
Apple’s Next Move
It’s quite possible and likely that Apple engineers are already working on the fifth generation of iPad tablets. A thinner and more technologically advanced will probably be the central improvements in the new iPad 5.

Most folks feel that two way radios help out a couple of professions like the police and the fire departments. However, this is a wrong assumption, because two way radios are used almost in every walk of life.
Donâ??t believe me?
Okay, consider these samples then:
A family on a hiking or skiing trip or on a vacation can use two way radios to stay in touch with each other in the woods or on icy slopes or wherever.
Campers, fishing enthusiasts, paintball enthusiasts, trekkers, hunters and many other amateurs and enthusiasts can use radios to communicate in lonely areas. You never know when help may be needed in such places.
Factories can be dangerous places to work in. There are hazardous chemicals to handle, high voltage electricity to contend with, giant machines with parts that can rip off an arm or a leg, etc. Every factory needs a radio system to ensure worker safety.
Construction sites also use two way radios to ensure worker safety. Imagine a 40-storey under-construction building with workers trapped on the 37th floor. How do they call out for help? They cannot use cellphones because they will have to punch in numbers and that will waste time. They can use two way radios at the flick of a switch and call for help.
Massive retail outlets also equip their employees with radios. To illustrate, the purchase department can communicate with the marketing personnel to inform them that new stocks have arrived for which a new campaign may be required.
Likewise, churches, theaters, malls, medical facilities, amusement parks, and many other institutions equip their employees with radio systems. The idea is to communicate instantly and effectively so that any dangerous situation is contained with speed (thereby saving many lives).
Two way radios play a very important role in film shoots. The action department has to communicate with the director and also with its crew; the director has to communicate with his team in the dressing room; etc., etc. No magnum opus has ever been made without the help of two way radios.
Schools too use radios to communicate instantaneously. The recent shootings inside schools have made the use of radio systems absolutely indispensable.
As you may have realized by now, two way radios have silently become an integral part of our lives. You may not notice them, but they keep working in the background ensuring security, property upkeep, worker safety, entertainment, sports, business, and more.

David J. O’Neill is a family man and blogger who’s always looking for ways to improve the quality of life, and write about it.
After developing the V-1 flying bomb (a.k.a. the doodlebug) a new flying bomb was then developed by German scientists and engineers at the Peenemunde research station on a deadlier version known as the V-2 flying bomb.
The V-2 carried the same one ton warhead but was designed to be unstoppable. The doodlebug was an effective weapon, but defences were put up by England in Operation Crossbow that had some success in stopping a good number of doodlebugs getting through. For instance, fast planes were used to intercept the doodlebugs, somtimes even tipping the wings of the doodlebug to topple it. Also, ground gun defences became more and more efficient through evolving technology in stopping the V-1s.
The way they made the V-2 flying bomb virtually unstoppable was to enable the flying bomb to travel at supersonic speeds at an altitude of up to 50 miles. From September 1994 around 3,000 V-2 rockets were launched at London and allied targets with around 2,700 people killed and around 6000 people injured. However, forced labour in concentration camps producing these rockets killed even more people. An estimated 12,000 people in concentration camps died through forced labour on the V-2 mass production project.
Supersonic speeds were not a new innovation as such, as rifle projectiles travel faster than the speed of sound. However, the V-2 rockets certainly did make their mark on influencing innovations for future supersonic aircraft.
Where the V-2 rockets made their mark as in early innovation leading up to launching satellites and space craft into space because it was the first rocket that could achieve the altitude needed to enter space.
Retaliation Campaign
Nazi propaganda claimed that the V-2 flying bomb was retaliation for the German cities that were being bombed from 1942 until Germany surrendered.
The V-2 rockets had external rudders, four in all, located on the tail fins that guided the bombs. The V-2s were mostly painted in a camouflage pattern, with later V-2s being painted an olive green colour.
Hitler ordered the V-2 rocket attacks to begin as soon as possible, with the very first rocket launched at Paris which caused some damage at Porte d’Italie. Then several more V-2 rocket launches were aimed against London. One of these attacks caused the death of a 63 year old woman, named Mrs. Ada Harrison and a 3 year old girl, Rosemary Clarke, together with Sapper Bernard Browning. Typically, if a V-2 rocket was flying over-head you’d hear a supersonic double crack
V2 Rocket Facility Footage
As well as London being targeted, around 1,664 were aimed at belgium and 76 aimed at France with a devastating 2 ton warhead.
British intelligence came up with the idea of leaking false information that implied that the rockets were overshooting London by 10-20 miles. Surprisingly, this tactic had an effect as the V-2 rockets were then re-calibrated and ended up falling on Kent.
The speed of the V-2 flying bombs was so fast that anti-aircraft guns on the ground didn’t have a chance at shooting them down. Dropping from an altitude of around 100 kms at four times the speed of sound, the V-2 rocket was deemed as almost impossible to stop by operations research teams.
The only way that Britain could halt the onslaught of the V-2 rocket attacks was to zero in on the launch infrastructure. Countermeasures against the launch facilities for the V-2 only resulted in them being placed further back, however.
An Expensive Campain
The V-2 rocket attack campaign was very expensive and heavy on German resources. A third of Germany’s fuel alcohol production stocks were used and involved using 20 tonnes of potatoes in order to distil the fuel needed for the rockets. In fact, the V-1 doodlebug and V-2 flying bomb campaign cost $3 billion to put into operation.
There was also a lack of explosives that could be produced in time, so concrete was sometimes used inside the warhead and sometimes even cramming the warhead with propaganda photographs of German citizens who were dying due to Allied bombing runs.
Although the V-2 rockets were used in warfare, causing catastrophic damage, there is a positive side to the V-2 being innovated. When Allied troops captured the plans for the V-2 rocket it influenced the next 50 years of military rocket ballistics and space flight research.
An Amazing Innovation
Just think, if it weren’t for the V-2 flying bomb being produced, we may have seen people landing on the moon in the 80s instead of the 60s.
With the war long over and the Nazi party eliminated, you have to hand it to the Germans for their innovations in science and engineering, which continue now in modern day peaceful Germany. German engineering is undoubtably still the best in the world.
Corvettes and racing are inseparable; the years and years of Corvette pace cars are proof the two are interconnected, likely forever.
Corvettes are inextricably connected to a few other facets of American culture as well, and many Country music stars own Corvettes or have some association with the classic, American cars. It just seems right to have those American singers driving American cars, but maybe they’re using that to their advantage more than they ought to be. Country music stars and Corvette cars have been promoting and feeding off each other for years now, since as far back as 1958.
Kix Brooks, Country music star and one half of the famous Brooks and Dunn duo, happened to own and drive the big, beautiful, yellow Corvette seen above. Now it’s on display along with a handful of other famous automobiles at the Corvette museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was only about 3 years old around the time this car was manufactured, but he found it sometime later and made it his own. His music might be fine and all but it’s nothing like the sweet song of this car revving up and coming to life.
This poster is from the Carrie Underwood tour, an event which stopped right in the Bridgestone Arena to showcase a whole horde of Corvettes on the race track. It sure seems like the two go together, and it’s as if Country music stars and Corvettes actually go out of their way for each other too. The Blown Away Tour wasn’t the only event to showcase Country music and Corvettes in 2012, either; wherever there is a gathering of Country music fans, there will be Corvettes.
Kix Brooks isn’t the only Country music performer with a penchant for Chevrolets. Marty Robbins, is another proud Corvette owner. He represents perhaps the closest link between the two American iconoclasts of Corvette cars and Country music; Robbins is the only country music star who can claim to have competed and done well in 35 different NASCAR events. A singer and a driver, Marty Robbins was quite the talented man.
It’s not as if Roy Orbison’s music hasn’t made him someone who will live forever in the minds and hearts of millions, but he gets plenty of help from his Corvette, seen here and on display at the Corvette museum in Kentucky. This is a beautiful car and a lasting testament to the bond between Country music and Corvettes, strong then and now. This 1967 Corvette in red looks simple enough, but then Roy never did need anything too flashy.
Bradley White blogs for the retailer Volunteer Vette, who offers a range of Corvette parts and accessories on their website.
Do you remember the Pomegranate phone? It was really quite cleverâ?¦but not in the way you might think.
What Was The Pomegranate Phone And What Could It Do?
The Pomegranate phone was a revolutionary idea; one which seemed almost magical in its scope and ability. On the website for the product, you found (and can still find) a slick site designed to draw you in and inform you of this deviceâ??s astounding features. Not only did it have GPS, an MP3 player, a camera and internet access (so far, so normal right?) it also hadâ?¦wait for itâ?¦a shaver, a built in harmonica, a coffee brewer, a projector and a language translator that let you speak to anyone in up to 50 languages.
Exceptâ?¦It Didnâ??t.
For all of you getting exciting and trying to imagine how much it costs, hereâ??s some bad news: it is not for sale. In fact, it doesnâ??t even exist. This incredible, multi-use mobile was an advertising ploy concocted back in 2008 by Nova Scotia, a Canadian province! Once you had explored the features of the phone, you clicked on the release date, and found yourself being redirected to a website aiming to direct tourism to Nova Scotia. It was an amusing and original scam, with many people believing the phone was real. It certainly worked, through; the website promoting Nova Scotia received thousands of hits.
Could It One Day Be Real?
It seems a shame that you canâ??t have an all-in-one device which would make work and play so much easier. But maybe it is possible? After all, there would probably be a lot of demand for something like that. Some of the features that the fake Pomegranate purported to have are not so far-fetchedâ?¦Nano projectors are real, and have already been put into mobile phones. However, people donâ??t have much use for tiny, portable, low-quality projectors yet. Phones which translate foreign languages for you are also already out there. But the shaver and harmonica? Well, for now, that doesnâ??t look too likely.
Just A Dreamâ?¦For Now
There are lots of high tech phones out there. There are ones with collapsible or pull-out touch screens, ones you can wear on your wrist, and even ones you can shake to charge up (not in regular circulation, of course). However, creating a real â??Pomegranateâ?? would be a bit of a stretch. Can you imagine how much memory a phone like that would need? That kind of storage space just isnâ??t available. Also, what kind of phone has the energy to brew coffee (as the Pomegranate claimed to)? This seems messy and impractical, as well as impossible. And would the coffee even taste that great? The amount of power a real one of these would need is just unthinkable.
If a phone like this existed, it would probably put all others out of business. What do you think? Could it be possible one day? Do you wish you could have one?
