Worms 3 is a platform sort of game where you control a team of worms armed to the teeth with interesting weapons. The goal of this worm team, is essentially to defeat the other enemy team at any cost possible. While playing you can move your worm soldiers around the platform map, as well as direct their attacks and weapon choice.
The great thing about this game is that it offers a lot of game modes. These game modes include campaign, quick game, practice mode, body count, and multiplayer (local or online).

Worms 3 has become a hit with casual and hardcore gamers, and it’s no surprise. This game has a wide range of weapons, levels and team customization. The worms on your team can be named, dressed and even taught to say certain things during their fight against enemy teams. For a $.99 game, Worms 3 gives players a lot of value.
Room to improve
I can’t really see any possible improvements for Worms 3. Not only does it have a lot of game modes and weapons, but it provides players with a lot of game time. Trust me, this game won’t get boring even after playing it for weeks.

Casual gamers of any age and genre-preference will likely love Worms 3. This is a game that you can be proud about buying, the value of it is simply phenomenal.
Letterpress is one of those creative games that comes along once in a blue moon. Although it came out more than a year ago, I thought I would give it a mention for the iOS users that haven’t heard of it yet (which I find hard to believe). This game came out of pure necessity from the developer, Loren Brichter, and his wife one night when they were out having dinner. Their table wasn’t ready and they were both playing SpellTower, a single-player game that Brichter found hard to believe wasn’t muliplayer.
He took idea of creating a multiplayer game similar to SpellTower and ran with it, creating an unique game that is hard to put down once you start.Because after all, Letterpress isn’t just a SpellTower-spinoff with online functionality, it’s a frankenstein creation made from a variation of Tetris and Scrabble.
Gameplay
Playing Letterpress is really simple. Just invite an iOS friend from gamecenter to a game or choose to get matched randomly with another player. Once a game is started, each player gets a turn and once they finish, the other player gets another turn and so forth. The game starts off with a grid of random letters. To finish your turn you have to tap on letters that make up a valid word consisting of at least two letters.If you user letters that the other player has used (indicated by their color) then you lose a point. The only exception to this is when you use one of their letters that is an outlier (a letter that is not surrounded by other letters with their colors).
There are plenty of rules to this game, but overall it’s really balanced and simple. Getting started with it shouldn’t take too long, you’ll be on your way and enjoying it very quickly.

Letterpress is an explanatory iOS game, there is no doubt about it. I don’t know what’s more impressive, the amount of followers and sub-culture it has gained, or the fact that the game is made up of 6,346 lines of codes.
Along with all of the great features and following of this game, its design has even been recognized as the leader in UI along with big-name apps such as Google+ and eBay.
Room to improve
While playing Letterpress I didn’t find an option to invite friends to the game that didn’t already have it. I may have missed something, but it seems as if you can only invite friends from Gamecenter that already have the app.
Conclusion
If you haven’t heard of Letterpress yet then you have to try it out. If you love word games then Letterpress is a must-have. If you don’t, then this might change your mind about it.
The Go Karts game created by GameAnax Inc. provides players with a really great racing experience. This game isn’t to be mistaken for some racing game with high-end cars, no, it’s much more fun and casual than that. You never feel stressed while playing this game and there is no pressure to collect a certain amount of coins or other items while racing. This game is just about relaxing and having a good time.
With over 11 realistic tracks, 6 go-karts, quick race mode and career mode, this game packs a lot of casual racing fun into an app that costs absolutely nothing to download. Sure there are some in-app purchases for buying extra tracks, but the game is still jam-packed with tracks and karts even if you never spend a single cent.
Mission Accomplished
GameAnax Inc. succeeded in bringing the true meaning of go-karting to iOS gaming, and that’s the laid-back style of it. Just like you would go out and have fun with friends go-karting at some park, this game maintains that same fun and laid-back style while still being exhilarating.
Go Karts also has a really great sound-track. I expected the developers to skimp on the audio for this game, but I was surprised at the up-beat songs and variety of the sound-track.
Room to improve
I feel like this game is too great to enjoy by yourself. If it had a local multiplier mode, or online mode, it would be even more fun. Like any other single-player game, this one will end after hours and hours of playing it. Sure, you can still race the computer AI in quick races once you finish career mode, but other than that it ends. For a free game you couldn’t ask more from the developers, but I’m sure if they created a multiplayer mode players would purchase the add-on.
Conclusion
If you like racing games and want to play a relaxing but still fun game, then you will enjoy this free game. It’s definitely worth playing 🙂
Wacko Birds is indeed a wacky game. To succeed in this game you have to help an insane bird navigate through crazy levels by using your finger to create paddles, slopes and barriers. The barriers you create are erased as soon as you start to draw another barrier, so the game speed works out nicely. There is no erasing or undoing involved.
Throughout the levels you have to make sure that the bird collects all the golden eggs and doesn’t get hurt. Yes, there are plenty of obstacles and drones that you have to watch out for, so don’t be surprised when you start playing Wacky Birds!

The creative idea behind this game is really great. I’ve followed the developer, Steve Synder, on Twitter so that I’m alerted when his next game comes out. It seems like this is a developer worth watching!
Room to improve
The graphics in this game aren’t stunning, but they are pretty darn-good for an indie game. A better tutorial at the start of the game, or a quick video of how to play would be nice. Other than that, this game checks out 🙂

Gym-Pact is a great app and I don’t really see any room for improvement. The developer are so honest they even state that you’ll make about $.30-$5 a week by using this app. There is no hidden-strings with this app and everything about it is honest.
Conclusion
Obviously Gym-Pact is worth a try if you need to maintain fitness goals. The risk-reward ratio is much higher than spending a lot of money on P90X or the gym only to give up. This app actually pays out and keeps you on track, so not only is it a great addition to your phone’s apps, but it’s also a great addition to your life.
The VSCO Cam app is a very interesting app. Although it’s disguised as a simple photo-taking editing solution for mobile devices, it’s much more than that.
On top of the powerful and simple photo editing system that VSCO Cam provides, it is also a full-fledged social network and photo manager. All photos that are taken get put into a general library that can then be mass-favorited, shared, saved, or edited. To post them on your social network page, you simply select the best photos you took.
The social network behind VSCO is a mix between Instagram and Tumblr. Any images get get uploaded to your page, in the form of yourname.vsco.co, can be accessed from any device and computer. Unlike the computer-version of Instagram, VSCO’s website design is stunning.

On top of getting photo-editing and social sharing right, this app also managed to perfect the camera user interface. Using the VSCO Cam to take photos is really simple and much more effective than using the stock iOS camera. Focusing on subjects is as easy as dragging your finger over them. Not to mention that there are a handful of other camera settings as well.
If you want to extend the filter and editing power of VSCO Cam, you can purchase more in-app filters. Once you get started with this app you can expect yourself to purchase some filter packs, because they are gorgeous and highly worth it.

I think this app is great as it is. If it weren’t I wouldn’t be reviewing it for App Comrade’s readers 🙂 With that in mind, I can’t find anything that the VSCO Cam doesn’t do right or that it could do any better.

From what I understand, this app used to cost money but now it’s free permanently. Since it’s free now’s your chance to download it and take it for a spin. Just bring an extra pair of socks when you try it out because it’ll blow your other pair off!
A lot of the questions I get from friends and family about scanning apps sound like this: “Why should I download some ‘scanning’ app for my phone when I could just take a photo using the camera?” If you’re not tech. savvy, then you have probably asked the same question yourself. Scanner Pro is the answer to that age-old question. Let me explain why.
Merely taking a photo with your camera does portable scanning no justice. Shadows come up over the page, tilting isn’t right, things look fuzzy, etc. Scanner Pro on the other hand fixes all of these issues by using special image-enhancing algorithms to boost the quality of your scan. The result is a straightened image with clear, high contrast text and images.

Scanner Pro really out does all of the other scanning apps on the app store. In addition to processing images smartly it also detects page borders in real time. Not to mention that Scanner Pro can save scans as PDFs, upload directly to cloud storage and sync documents across all iCloud devices. Even the New York Times vouches for this app’s elegant functionality:

Honestly I don’t think this app could be made any better. It’s already so stable and full of features that it would be impossible to find something that’s not up-to-par with it.
Conclusion
Scanner Pro is an app anyone should have on their phones. If you ever need to scan something it’s better to have it installed than to wait five minutes for it to download over 3G/4G. Obviously if you scan things a lot from your phone, then there is no question about downloading this app today.
All phone users know how easy it can be for their messages to be misinterpreted over text. A sarcastic remark or joke can quickly turn into a disaster if the other person reads it the wrong way. Luckily for iOS users, someone finally decided to do something about it.
Meet the Frankly Messenger App
The Frankly Messenger is frankly the best way to communicate with friends and family. Heck, it’s even the best way to communicate with your enemies. What makes this app so amazing is the control which users have over message customization. The size of the message’s font can be changed and so can the message’s background.
Adding a warm color for example and keeping the font size of a message makes it easier for the person receiving the message to understand the context of what is being said. Similarly, if someone receives a message with a cold color and HUGE font, they will also understand the message differently.
The other great thing about the Frankly Messenger is that messages only appear for 10 seconds. If the sender decides they want to “unsend” their message and stop the receiving user from opening, or finish reading the message, they can do that by tapping an “X” icon.

In addition to all of the great features that the Frankly Messenger has, it also lets you send images. I don’t know how this app could get any better, but the image functionality just made it ten times better!
Room to improve
While using this app I wasn’t able to find an option for increasing the amount of time the receiver has to read the message. I would think that longer messages would require longer reading times than 10 seconds. But it’s not that big of a deal. I feel like messages that take longer than 10 seconds to read are usually never sent over text message anyways, so why do that on Frankly?
Conclusion
Quite frankly this is a must-have app. If you’re tired of being misunderstood over text, or tired of the boring style of it all, then Frankly Messenger is a perfect messaging solution for communicating with your friends and family. It’s easily the best thing to happen to iOS messaging since the release of Emoji’s and Snapchat.
By the way, this app is also available on Android 🙂 That means that you can invite friends over to Frankly Messenger even if they aren’t cool enough to have an iPhone [kidding. The Galaxy and Moto phones are cool too…].
