Garageband

View in iTunes

This review is for Garageband on the iPad, however, this app is universal and works on the iPhone and iPod Touch. You can create music loops and songs using Garageband, even if you can’t play an instrument.

There are options for amateurs and advanced options for professionals and musicians. This is my all time favourite app. I you asked me what app would I have if I could only ever have 1 app on my iPad/iPhone . . . I would answer “Garageband” for sure. I use this app for my background music on my apps.

The music loop I put together, shown at the end of this review took me only 30 minutes, using the mini-loops provided and just by mix and matching which sounds go well together and I am certainly not a musician. You can even plug your guitar in and experiment with a range of amps and effects that would otherwise cost a fortune to buy.

You can make music on the go and you even have the option to then upload your creation to Garageband on the Mac to further tweak and perfect it. It is fun too. Garageband is priced at $4.99 at the time of this review and for me it’s well worth the money. To be honest, if I had to pay $20 for this app it would still be worth it as it saves me a lot of money in the long run, where I would otherwise have to employ a musician to do my background sound loops. Even if you don’t use this app for anything practical, it’s so much fun just messing around with this app. In all, a fantastic app.

  1. It’s a nice blog you have over here! It’s very usefull information for me and I just want to thank you for that! If you post more threads as this one, I’ll follow your blog active!

  2. I am not positive where you are getting your information, but good topic. I must spend some time studying more or working out more. Thanks for excellent information I used to be looking for this info for my mission.

  3. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

    • I have absolutely no expcrienee in programming but I am interested in writing iPhone apps. I have done a lot of research but I haven’t found anything that is for complete beginners. I am 13 years old and i hear that you can make a lot of money from iPhone apps. PLEASE HELP!

  4. Does anyone know how plugging in a guitar works with this app? Do you plug it in to an amp or get speakers for it? It would be way to quiet if you just used the internal speakers.

    • When I turn the screen off on my ihpone and lock it, (not turn it off completely) it makes this weird high-pitched chirping noise, it’s loud and it starts chirping really high and quickly and slowly starts to chirp deeper and slower. Then it will suddenly stop. It only lasts a few seconds and doesn’t happen whn he iPhone is on vibrate, (duh)Why is it doing this and how can I get it to stop? Why is
