Risk

This review is for the HD version on the iPad, however, this app is available on all devices. Risk is a strategic game with nice graphics and solid gameplay.

You can play against AI computer players with three levels of difficulty, easy, medium or expert. It’s very similar to the board game and has drag and drop troop placement. I have been playing this game for the last four months and I can honestly say that it was worth the $2.99 as it’s given me hours of fun gameplay.

Risk is available on iPad, iPod Touch and iPad. At the time of this review the iPhone version seems to have been given an update to a more neon graphics style feel. The iPad version I’m playing on hasn’t crashed once, so it’s very stable. There are different rewards in the game. Most rewards I’ve managed to obtain, however I haven’t been able to figure out how to lose before my first turn which there is an award for. If anybody playing this game has any ideas on how to achieve this please leave a comment.

  1. In reply to the comment about an rss feed. Looked into it. I already have an rss feed which you can read and subscribe to using a reader, such as ‘Google Reader’. You can download it from – http://www.google.com/reader/view/

When you have a reader installed, just click on the orange rss feed button on the top right of my blog and you’re subscribed. Hope this helps 🙂

  2. Thanks for your comment. Not sure what you meant exactly, but I will try my best to answer your question as I always welcome constructive criticism. . .

I have a spam filter and I monitor comments before they appear. Basically, spamming my site would be like trying to get through a brick wall, so there’s no danger of wayward or spammy comments reaching this blog unless I approve them. 2 thirds of comments have been spam so far which I have filtered out.

So, feel free to comment on my blog and rest assured that I will monitor every comment.

I also keep all email addresses with comments private and confidential. I just want to create a blog where people can chill out, read a few reviews and leave a comment without any come back, like spam or being added to mailing lists or any of that nonsense.

I will create a newsletter in the future however, for people who want me to send a newsletter out bi-monthly with a list of new reviews and links to them, for people who want to subscribe. I will wait until this website grows before I do this however.

    Thanks for your feedback.
