4 Ways to Boost Your Energy Level Naturally

It is no secret that our busy schedules keep us running and going all day.

Many times people are feeling less than ready to keep going by the middle of the day. It seems that no amount of sugar and energy drinks can get us through the rest of the day. There must be a better way to get the energy that we need to make it through a day.

Get enough sleep

One of the best things that you can do for your body is to get a good nightâ??s sleep. This means getting a full 6 to 8 hours of sleep a night. It is important that you feel relaxed before going to bed. Some things to ease tension before bed could include taking a warm bath or shower, reading a book, or listening to calming music.

Get plenty of exercise

Another good way to boost your energy is to get plenty of exercise in your routine. Make sure that your exercise is done in the morning. This might mean getting up a little early, but adjust your schedule and go to bed earlier too. You want to try and avoid exercising before bed for two reasons. 1) Exercise can be very stimulating. 2) In order for your work out to be the most effective it can be, your body needs time to get the systems going to create the energy by burning fat and upping your metabolism. Going to sleep, makes your body feel it is time to heal and rest and stops the metabolism process.

Eat a well balanced diet

Many times people are rushed in the morning and feel they do not have time for breakfast. They skip the meal. This really is not good for you. To help keep energy levels optimal throughout the day it is important to eat healthy meals and snacks. You should also consider how our body functions and its needs when eating.

Try to eat a heavier balanced meal in the morning, a light snack mid morning, a salad or lighter meal for lunch, another small snack in the afternoon, and then a light dinner. By starting your day with your heaviest meal you have all day to burn those calories and eating snacks during the day helps to keep your blood sugar leveled out.

Dedicate me time

Every day you should take the time to do something just for yourself. It is important that you do something that makes you feel excited and brings you joy every day. It does not matter if it is dancing in your bedroom to your favorite music or listening to motivational speakers. The point is to make time to do it at least once a day. It goes a long way in making you feel good and that always gives you a little extra energy.

  1. It is not really possible for me to get the 8-10 hours of sleep I need every night. I’m using a Siesta sleeping schedule right now, and that’s really been helping out http://appcomrade.com/2012/09/02/hacking-your-brain-to-sleep-as-little-as-2-hours-per-day/

I’ve been able to go to school, get about 7 hours of total sleep, hit the gym, and still function normally. Tomorrow I’m also going to start running in the morning and afternoon like I used to do during summer.

I can tell you for sure that I feel way better with my new level of exercise and sleeping methods, than I did a year ago when I got the same amount of sleep, but no naps or exercise.

Eating less has always been a bitch for me honestly. I eat just about 7.2x the portion I really should be putting into my body, at any given time. Taking that to just 3x or 4x, is very hard for me! I also used to eat very fast. Fast enough that I could finish my entire meal before someone sitting across me could finish 8 bites. That was just a weird habit I have because I am never patient enough to just sit around doing nothing. Also from what I understand it is easier for your body to digest thoroughly chewed food, so eating fast is probably the worst thing you could do for your diet!

As for finding me time; you are very lucky if exercising is your me time! Some people don’t really enjoy working their ass off, but I find that it’s good mentally, and for your body. Exercise is a must!

    • Actually my Siesta method is a little stupid. I sleep 6-7 hours, wake up at 5, go to school, come back at 2:30, and nap for 20 minutes. The reason it is stupid is because I end up napping at 3:00 most of the time which is 2-3 hours past the given Siesta technique. I’m still getting good results, but it just makes me wonder how much those 2-3 hours really offset the whole deal.

    • Sounds a good routine Octavian. I’ve become a bit of a donut lately and will begin working out this week (today). I’m using the Athlean X plan

This plan I like as there are 100 different exercises for muscle confusion.
As for exercising, I don’t enjoy it to be honest, I will listen to my iPod and just get on with it. I feel really good afterwards though.
I pigged out on ‘Moments’ & ‘Scampi Fries’, as well as ‘Pickled Onion Monster Munch’ & ‘Guinness’ when I was on holiday and I must have put on 2 kilos for sure lol
