Hulu on Samsung TV is on the same death watch as the Roku version.
Disney's planned 2026 consolidation of Hulu into Disney+ applies across every smart-TV platform. The Tizen Hulu app works for now. The Disney+ install is the future.

The Hulu story in 2026 is the same on every smart-TV platform — Samsung Tizen, Roku, LG webOS, Apple TV, Fire TV. Disney announced in August 2025 that Hulu would be folded into the Disney+ app during 2026; the Switch shutdown happened in February; the major TV-platform timelines haven’t been individually published but the consolidation is happening. The Samsung Tizen Hulu app works fine in May 2026; whether it’s the right install for a new subscriber depends entirely on how much you want to do the migration step later.
The honest read is that the app on Samsung TV is the same Hulu app as on Roku, the same Hulu app as on Apple TV, the same content catalogue with the same gaps. The Tizen-specific differences are minor — Bixby voice search, Samsung TV Plus integration, and the directional navigation through the standard Samsung remote layout. None of those differences are reasons to specifically choose Hulu on Samsung over Hulu on a different TV; conversely, none are reasons to avoid it.
For new subscribers shopping for streaming on a Samsung TV, the Disney+ install path is the smarter one. The catalogue of Hulu shows you’d want will be there by year-end, the migration step is removed, and Disney+‘s broader content investment makes the bundle more attractive. For existing Hulu users on Samsung TV, the app is fine and the consolidation will be invisible to subscribers when it finally reaches Tizen.

Pricing tiers and content access: Hulu (with ads) at $9.99/month; Hulu (No Ads) at $18.99/month; Hulu + Live TV starting at $82.99/month for the cable-replacement package. The Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+) at $24.99/month is the path most current subscribers are on.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Same as the Roku Hulu review. The app is functional, the catalogue is the full Hulu library, picture quality is fine for non-live content (no 4K HDR for Hulu's library), and Hulu + Live TV's channel guide is the strongest cable-replacement TV experience on Samsung Tizen.
Stability is the achievement carried over from prior years; the app holds up in regular use without significant playback issues.
ROOM TO IMPROVE
Same trajectory issue. Hulu the standalone app is being phased out into Disney+. Tizen-specific timing isn't published; new subscribers in May 2026 should consider whether to start with Disney+ instead and add Hulu content there. The Tizen catalogue inherits Disney's general roll-out schedule rather than tracking it independently.
Lack of 4K HDR for Hulu library content is the same hardware-software gap on Tizen as on every other Hulu platform — the licensing constraints predate the Disney consolidation and aren't expected to change post-merge.
