REVIEW
Onet Games keeps a 1990s arcade puzzle alive on Galaxy phones.
A faithful Onet connect-pair clone with animal and fruit tiles. The mechanic still works; the wrapper around it is generic.

Onet is one of those puzzles that survives every reskin because the core idea is sound — three turns or fewer to link two tiles, and the path can’t cross another tile on the way. It came out of mid-1990s PC freeware in Asia, made it onto Java feature phones in the 2000s, and has been quietly reissued every year since under dozens of brand names. “Onet Games : Classic Connect Animal & Fruit Link” is one of those reissues on Samsung’s Galaxy Store, and it does the bare-minimum job of carrying the format forward.
The animal and fruit tiles are the giveaway about lineage. This is the Pikachu-clone family of Onet — the one that swaps the original mahjong-style tiles for cartoon icons aimed at a younger phone audience. It plays exactly the way you remember if you ever opened one of these on a feature phone in 2008. Tap, tap, line bends twice, pair clears.
What’s harder to defend is the rest of the package. There is no progression hook to speak of, no daily challenge that earns its name, no signature on the art. The genre’s heavy hitters on this storefront have spent years sanding their UX, and this build hasn’t done that work yet. It’s a competent Onet board with ads on top of it, which is enough for a few sessions and not much more.

FEATURES
"Onet Games : Classic Connect Animal & Fruit Link" is a classic Onet board — match two identical tiles by drawing a path between them that bends no more than twice. Tiles come in two themed packs, animals and fruit, and clear in pairs until the grid is empty or you run out of moves. The bend-count rule is the entire genre in one sentence, and this build implements it correctly.
The surrounding furniture is what you would expect from a Galaxy Store puzzle freebie. Timed levels, hint and shuffle buttons, a rising tile-density curve as you progress, and an occasional twist mode where rows shift after each match. Sessions are short — a board takes one to three minutes — which is the right shape for the platform.
Monetisation follows the casual-puzzle template: free to install, interstitial ads between levels, rewarded ads gated to extra hints and continues. There is no subscription or one-time unlock advertised on the store listing.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
The pathfinding is correct, which is more than half the battle for an Onet clone. Tile selection registers cleanly, the connecting line draws without lag, and illegal pairs are rejected with a quick shake rather than a punitive timer. For a free Galaxy Store download, that's the right baseline.
The animal-and-fruit art is friendly without being garish, and the two themed packs give the eye a reason to keep playing past the first ten boards. Sessions also run offline, which matters for a puzzle people open in transit.
ROOM TO IMPROVE
There's no identity here beyond the genre label. Onet has been on mobile for fifteen years and the leaders — Onet Connect Animal, Onet Fruit Classic, the Pikachu-style retro clones — have spent that time tuning their difficulty curves and ad cadence. This build does neither in a way a casual player would notice, and the ad density creeps upward fast once you're past the tutorial levels.
The developer signature is also thin. "Board Game" as a publisher name, no in-app news, no daily-event hook, no leaderboard worth chasing. The app is functional; it isn't a destination.
CONCLUSION
Install it if the first Onet result on the Galaxy Store happens to be this one and you don't feel like comparison shopping. The mechanic is still satisfying after three decades — that's the genre talking, not the build. If you want a more polished take with the same core loop, Onet Connect Animal Classic on Galaxy Store is the one most players settle on.
